IPADS

At Milford School we have the chance to get an IPad. Coming 2nd on the list, we need less then 20 votes (in double points) before the 21st of August 2011. Every vote means we get TWO nominations. We need 250 nominations altogether to win an IPad, until all 50  IPads have been won. We are so close. Each school can win up to five, so every nomination counts!

Lunch Orders

At Milford School we have a school lunch order programme. One lunch option is Pita pit. It’s like Pita bread with vegetables and meat and so on. At our office there are envelopes so you can tick the empty boxes to select what fillings you would like. Another lunch option we have is Sushi. It’s similar to Pita pit but its only meat and vegetables.  We also have online lunch orders. You don’t order using envelopes but you order on the computer.  Many Milford students enjoy yummy lunches using our school lunch ordering system.

National Young Leaders Day

On the 19th of May some people from Milford School Went to NYLD (National Young Leaders Day). There were lots of speakers talking about how to be a good leader and how to make great choices in your life. We thought deeply about how to live our lives such as to be positive, never to give up and always to be honest.  Most of the young leaders from Milford School said that the speakers said some great things and they would love to go again.

Olympic Schools Programme

Danyon Loader, double Olympic Gold medallist, recently visited our school to present three “Olympic” medals in recognition of Milford School being confirmed as an Olympic School. An ASB Olympic School programme is an exciting programme that has been created for schools.  It helps to promote the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect.  The programme will help to educate and inspire kids to strive to do their best on the sporting field, in the classroom and in the community. We had a special assembly to welcome Danyon Loader.  Danyon Loader said things like, “Never give up”. We really enjoyed having Danyon Loader visit our School.

Waterwise

All the Year 5 and 6 classes do Waterwise 2 or 3 times per term. The classes have different times and are on a rotation. We do Waterwise to learn to sail and kayak. The most important thing about Waterwise is to keep safe around water. Most people say they love it and they want do it again.
